StyleTeks was formed back in 1998 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Our business started at as a retail consulting company focusing on the need for better integration of technology into the growing number of retail stores in the local marketplace. The lack of proven software applications and the resources to support them was outstanding, and we developed a business plan to turn this around and support the growth of retail in our community.

Immediately, we researched dozens of software applications claiming to handle inventory and point of sale (POS) for retailers. The problems were numerous, including antiquated software packages claiming they were true windows applications, unstable applications providing no reliability, lack of local support, a slim number of features, software that was not affordable to the small retailer, and none providing growth and scaleability for future expansion.

StyleTeks spent most of 1998 speaking with software vendors, meeting with programmers, and visiting retail trade shows in an effort to further hone in on the state of the industry.

In 1999, we found a software application suite from a company in California, Sales Management Systems. The software at the time was called Quicksell. They were the first company to market with a true windows based application that offered stability and the means for customization, which for small independent retailers is highly important.

We started our work with Quicksell by interrogating the effectiveness, stability, and scaleability of their software. Our results were surprisingly outstanding. And, it appeared we were not the only ones to see the potential of this software. The other Company was Microsoft.

Microsoft awarded Quicksell with a good number of awards for outstanding software in the retail sector, which eventually led Microsoft down the path of purchasing the rights to Quicksell and changing the name to The Microsoft Retail Management System.

At this point, StyleTeks has already introduced Quicksell to a good number of independent retailers in the Arizona, and the word that Microsoft purchased the rights to the software generated more interest.

Today, StyleTeks is loyal to our relationship with Microsoft and we only offer the Microsoft Retail Management System product line. It is the only POS and Inventory Control Solution we offer, since we believe it is the only one that truly provides the best level of functionality, stability, growth, and it is cost effective allowing retailers a quick return on their investment.

Over the years, we've learned that sharing our expertise was essential for retailers to have a successful business venture. In addition, we uncovered another dire need in the Industry: a central location for software, hardware and supporting services for retailers throughout the United States.

In 2004, we released this new web site in an effort to provide an affordable repository for everything related to Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System, while allowing retailers using other POS Software the ability to leverage the customer service and pricing we already extend to our clientelle. This includes POS hardware, POS software, service and support.
