StyleTeks recommends a limited number of barcode scanners due to cost of ownership, warranty, and aesthetics. However, almost any barcode scanner may be used with The Microsoft Retail Management System.

Here is a list of our recommended barcode scanners:

Metrologic Voyager Barcode Scanner
Metrologic provides a fully functional scanner with a 5-year manufacturers warranty. This model is available in white or black depending on your decor and other POS peripherals.

Other barcode scanner manufacturers are compatible with the Microsoft Retail Management System, however based on the construction and reliability of this scanner, it is the only one we recommend. Retailers with existing barcode scanners in place, other then the Metrologic line of scanners, can most likely use the same scanner without making an unnecessary investment into a new model. A StyleTeks Sales Engineer or Support Engineer can further determine the compatibility.
